Game Details

Who made the game?

Slender: The Arrival was jointly developed by Blue Isle Studios and Mark Hadley; creator of the original Slender game phenomenon. Mark operates under the game Agent Parsec (Parsec Productions). Blue Isle Studios is an independent game design company based out of Toronto, Canada.

Is there a proper storyline to the game?

Yes! Joseph DeLage, Troy Wagner and Tim Sutton, the creators of Marble Hornets are responsible for the creation of The Arrival's storyline.

Is there more to do than collect pages?

Yes! While everyone’s favorite forest is back, there is much more to do this time around. Other levels feature unique and varied gameplay. We don’t want to say much more without ruining the story!

How long is the game?

The Arrival is an expanded version of the original game; meaning there are more levels and more content. From start to finish, we’d estimate around a couple hours of gameplay for the average player. The length of the game also depends on how much time you want to spend exploring, collecting, and trying new difficulties.

Part of what made the original game so great was the lack of story or detailed graphics; won’t the addition of these ruin the experience?

We agree that the original Slender was spectacular in its simplicity. We kept this in mind while developing the game and were very careful. The story and improved visuals we added serve to improve the experience, not take away from it.

Have the promotional screenshots been edited, what does the game actually look like?

The screenshots we show are taken directly from the game with the highest graphics settings turned on; they are not edited in any way. What you see in the screenshots is what you see in the game. With that said, be aware that a game in development is often subject to changes. This means that something shown in one screenshot may have been cut or changed in a future version of the game.

Which game engine are you using to make the new game?

Like the original Slender, we used the Unity engine to create The Arrival. You can check it out here.

The original game lagged on my computer; will this game have any performance improvements?

Absolutely, we've added a wide range of graphics options so that you can make sure your performance is optimal. Due to large outdoor scenes, laptops with integrated video cards will likely have to play the game on lower graphics settings than gaming desktops.

Slenderman was created by Victor Surge, how are you guys able to release a commercial product?

Eric "Victor Surge" Knudsen has licensed SlenderMan rights to the game Slender: The Arrival.

Is this game free?

Slender: The Arrival is a commercial release – this means the game is not free. It is available for $10.00, and can be purchased here.

The original Slender is free, why does this game cost money?

Slender is a short, experimental game created and released for free by Mark Hadley. Consider it an early prototype, demo, or test. Fortunately, that experiment worked better than expected and his game became a worldwide phenomenon. Slender: The Arrival takes the best elements from the original game while expanding and improving every single aspect. We turned Slender into a proper single player experience. The game has vastly improved visuals, sound, more levels, and a story to tell.

How much does the game cost?

The game has a final retail price of $10.00.

How is the game distributed?

The Arrival can be purchased online here. We’ve also recently teamed up with indie game publisher Midnight City to help extend Slender: The Arrival’s reach, and we are looking into releasing the game on a variety of other platforms

Other than PC, what other platforms is the game available for?

The Arrival is currently available on Steam for PC only.

What about consoles and mobile phones?

We’re working hard to get the game in the hands of as many players as possible. During the first quarter of 2014, Slender: The Arrival will be released on XBOX 360 and Playstation 3, with new content and bonus levels.
